One of the most important aspects of prayer is to do the obligatory daily prayers in the community. The following tradition shows us the virtues of community prayer. Ibn ʿUmar, Allah be pleased with both, reported: The Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and give him salvation, said:
“Prayer together is twenty-seven times the value of prayer done alone.” (Narrated by al-Buẖārī and Muslim) [Riyadhu s-Salihin: Hadith no. 1064, Book 9, Chapter 191]
Performing compulsory prayer in community is a habit that the Prophet – peace and blessings of Allah be upon him – used to keep throughout his life. Even on his days when he was severely ill, he commanded Abu Bakr to pray and prayed behind him. For this reason the doors of the Alfaruq Mosque are open every day at every prayer time. Thus, the believers are given the opportunity to do this duty.
