The importance of the pursuit of knowledge and the acquisition of knowledge in Islam is evident in both the Koran and the Sunnah (lifestyle) of the Prophet Allah peace and blessingon on him.

Thus the first word of the Qur'an, which was sent down to the people, was: "Iqraa!"

The importance of knowledge in the Koran is also emphasized in several places. For only those who acquire knowledge can serve their Lord in the right way. It is not possible to live Islam without having knowledge at the same time.

The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessing be upon him) also said in this context:

"If Allah wants to give good to someone, He makes him understand religion well."

In another tradition, he said Allah's peace and blessing on him:

"Whoever walks a path to gain knowledge will therefore make a path to paradise easy for Him."

In order to satisfy the thirst for knowledge of Muslims in our mosque and to help them learn more about their religion, regular lectures are held on various topics.

Every day after the Isa prayer in winter time (and before the Isa prayer in summer time), our imams give short lectures explaining Koranic verses, telling prophetic stories, and imparting wisdom.

And because it is of course an honor to hear lectures by renowned scholars who are experts in their field, they are regularly invited from home and abroad to talk about interesting and instructive topics.
